The golden Seed

Description

As far as I know, I discovered this relationship between the golden ratio and hexagons. Unlike every other design I have created with phi, this particular pattern is NOT infinite. It starts with a hexagon in the middle and each consecutive layer is made with hexagons growing in proportion to phi (golden ratio). When it reaches the sixth layer, something odd happens. The distance between two of the outer hexagons is equal to their own diameter. This never happens again. I call it the golden seed. My drawing uses cuboctohedrons in perspective to show that there is also a 3D equivalent to the drawing. I hope you like it. It took hundreds of hours playing with the golden ratio and geometric shapes to find it. I am flabbergasted that all we ever see is that rectangle, square, and spiral. Geometry and phi mix to materialize an amazing number of beautiful designs. I would like to build statues as well some day.

In order to make it more artistic, I had to use adobe illustrator which I am not used to using, so their are a few imperfections in the geometry, but it is near perfect to the human eye.

thanks for looking,

That is odd about taking it to the 6th layer, and how it coorelates with the Cuboctahedron. Can't remember that I had seen that before.
